Here is the next installment of Puppy Love. :D Hermione was back at the Burrow after the harrowing experience at the World Cup. She had asked Mrs. Weasley if she could go into Ottery St. Catchpole to call her parents. She wanted them to know she was alright. Mrs. Weasley agreed and asked if she wanted anyone to go with her. Hermione shook her head no as she walked out the door. Hermione was talking to her mother on the phone and doing her best to reassure her that she was fine. She reminded her that she was safe with the Weasleys and yes she does still want to go to Hogwarts as she rolls her eyes. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees a familiar looking dog. “Mom, I have to go. I think Siri is here to check on me. Yes, Mum. That’s him, OK, I will. Love you and Dad. I will send a message when I get to the school,” Hermione said as she hangs up the phone. She turned around and lo and behold, the black shaggy dog was sitting in front of her. She smiled at him and nodded to lead the way for them to talk. Sirius in his dog form led them towards the outskirts of the Burrow. He waited until they were near the apple orchard but out of sight of everyone. Sirius popped back into his human form and gave her a big hug and a kiss on the lip. “God, Hermione. I am so glad to see that you are alright. I am assuming that you were just talking to your parents on the phone?” asked Sirius. Hermione nodded into his shoulder and said, “Yes, I was. I had to convince them that I would be safe at the school and that I didn’t want to come home for the year. UGH. They drive me nuts.” “Hermione!” Sirius snapped at her, which made her look at him with a shocked look. Sirius took a deep breath. “Sorry but that is what parents do. They worry about their kids. I know that it is a little different in your case because they don’t have magic. Am I to assume that Julia had a message for me?” “Err, yeah… just to be safe and don’t be reckless,” said Hermione with a laugh. “Fat lot of that happening, is it?” Sirius smiled sheepishly. “It’s okay, Siri. I am really glad that you are here. I was wondering how I was going to get in touch with you. Since Harry has Hedwig looking for you and Pig is too excitable for a bird for me plus I didn’t feel right using the Weasley’s family bird under false pretenses either.” Hermione gave Sirius another hug of gratitude. “Well, when I saw the article about the World Cup, I just had to see you. I knew that they lived near that village so I hung around it like I did last year in Hogsmeade and hoped to catch you somehow. I should have known that you would talk to them instead of a letter so they could hear your voice,” said Sirius. Hermione nodded. “I was so happy to see you talking on the phone so I wait patiently for you to get off to talk to you somewhere safe.” “I am glad you did but at what risk, Sirius. I don’t think I could handle it if something happened to you just when we were just getting to know each other,” Hermione reprimanded Sirius. Sirius looked down. Hermione took a deep breath. “Siri, I love you and I just don’t want something bad to happen, OK?” Sirius nodded with his head still hung. Hermione cupped his check to look at her. When he did, she leaned in for a kiss, Sirius pulled away to see that she wasn’t mad at him anymore. “I am sorry if I worry you. I have fallen in love with you, Hermione and nothing will stop me from you,” Sirius stated with a voice full of passion. Hermione’s gazed softened some more. Sirius grabbed her and pulled her to his chest and forcibly kissed her hard. Hermione moaned in his mouth. Sirius pushed her up against the gate that bordered the Burrow. Hermione threaded her hands into his hair to pull him closer if that was even possible. “God, Hermione, I love you so much.” “I love you too, Siri. Please don’t ever leave me,” cried Hermione. Hermione sprang apart from Sirius with her eyes wide when she hears Molly’s voice yelling for her. “Quick, Siri. GO! I will send you a letter when I get to Hogwarts!” Sirius gave her a quick peck goodbye before turning back into Padfoot and ran off before Mrs. Weasley came around the corner. “Oh, hey, Mrs. Weasley, I am alright.” “Oh Dear. I am glad to see that you are alright. I was starting to worry about you,” Mrs. Weasley said. “Oh, I am sorry about that, Mrs. Weasley. I started to wander around the shops to see what was there. I lost track of time. I was on my way back when I heard you calling out for me,” said Hermione. Mrs. Weasley nodded in relief and answered, “Please take someone with you next time.” Hermione nodded. “Good. Dinner is about ready, which is why I was worried about you.” Hermione smiled at her as they started back towards the house. I hope you enjoyed it. :D ~HMS Intelligence
