Here is this weeks fishing report from the Ely Fishing Guide - TopicsExpress

Here is this weeks fishing report from the Ely Fishing Guide Company. By guide; Cory Peterson. Well here we are rapidly approaching the end of the August already and we are sliding into one of my favorite times of the year, late summer/early fall. The bugs are practically nonexistent now and fishing for us at the Ely Fishing Guide Company has continued to be excellent! We are still finding good numbers of walleyes, pike, and bass in very predictable locations, mid lake reefs, main lake points, and deep weed lines. Most walleyes and small mouth bass these days are being caught while live bait rigging with either large leeches or night crawlers in the 12 to 24 feet of water. While most success for northern pike has been speed trolling large crank baits along main basin break lines in 25 to 35 feet of water, but adjacent to really deep water. Lets not forget about the pan fish. Large schools of Crappies and sunfish are being found in water depths in the 17 to 28 feet of water and are biting aggressively on a spinner/crawler presentation as well as jigs tipped with small plastics. Here are a few pics from last week. First picture is a customer battling a 27 inch White Iron lake Walleye!
