Here is what Jim Lowe, of the Times Argus, had to say about "Parasite Drag": “Parasite Drag” is a particularly gritty family drama by Mark Roberts in which layer after layer is peeled away to reveal the sordid secret that has kept this family apart for many years. Waterbury Festival Playhouse opened the Vermont premiere production Thursday that proved truly powerful and affecting theater... ...This is realistic drama, powerful, sometimes humorous and often riveting. The Waterbury Festival Playhouse production, directed by Artistic Director George Pierce, was intense, skillful and impressive — in part, because of an excellent cast. Adam Cunningham gave real dimension to the self-righteous Gene when he easily could be played as a caricature. Ginger Pierce made Joellen sympathetic and real as the frustrated housewife. David Dilego managed Ronnie’s volatile mix of anger and sensitivity with authenticity. Sarah Mell felt very real and genuine as Susie, the character whose normalcy gives the situation perspective. Most importantly, the actors created a seamless sense of ensemble. Waterbury Festival Players’ “Paradise Drag” proved to be both deeply disturbing and ultimately rewarding theater.
