Here is what will be released to the media regarding the formation of the official portion of the booster club - lots to follow for sure - this is in its infancy so baby steps need to be taken - I thank all of you for your input ideas and creativity and look forward to move forward with this together as a solid unified group Media Release August 14th, 2014 The Battalion Booster Club is Officially Here! North Bay, ONT. - The Battalion fan experience is about to get bigger and better. Headed by Derek Callahan, a group of devoted fans got together Thursday evening at the North Bay Public Library, to discuss the idea of an official Battalion Booster Club. Callahan says we approached the club (Battalion Team) to see if they would be interested in getting involved with this. They are more than on board with having an official booster club as long as an executive could be formed and it was a group they could deal with individually. Callahan put together the meeting through the Facebook page North Bay Battalion Fan Club, an unofficial group that posts all things Battalion. He says through the social media aspect used on that page he reached out to interested individuals. Callahan says we had a number of great people come forward to volunteer their time, effort and skills. So we have an official executive formed. That executive is made up of; President - Derek Callahan, Vice President - Amanda Turcotte, Secretary - Crystal Thompson, Chair of Marketing/Promotions and the Kids Club - Melinda Germon, Chair of Events/Bus Trips Frances DAndrea Huard, Chair of Social Media/Media Communications - Matthew Sookram. Callahan adds the goal of the club is to have the fans connect more with the team. He says We want to cater to the fan experience, including the young fan experience. We want to get kids involved and becoming more active in the community, and have them supporting their local hockey heroes. The President of the club added there are a number of ideas in the works with lots of details to be unveiled soon. He says We want to carry some of the traditions from the Brampton Booster Club forward and we want to get involved with the team and work hand in hand with their promotions. The executive will meet again shortly to discuss ways of bringing in more community members to make up those sub committees.
