Here it is my first post on my dear babies. And heres a short story i would like to share, of our struggle which we had to undergo some days back. Everything went on pretty well as usual until it was confirmed that Rio (the mother gsd) was pregnant. I was pretty much shocked and confused as i was uncertain what would be the consequences ? As I had never tamed a female dog before, thus I had a lack of experience on how to act at this trivial time. I consulted vets and did my best. Everything went with the flow until I gradually realized that one of her breast were getting swollen and big day by day whereas all the other were just fine. I thought that her body were getting prepared to give birth and feed the pups. Until a month later I got the proper answer after consulting many vets, it was found that it was a sort of a tumor growing out of her body. Now I had to inject her 3 medicine daily for 7/8 days. After the course finished I was surprised to see not a single medicine had affected her illness. Now i had last two options, either complete removal of the 1kg tumor or some powerful medicines which was uncertain of its cure but would 100% surely kill the pups. I was in a mental dilemma and pressure for days until a miracle occured the next morning ! Rio gave birth to one big cute chubby pup which was born dead.... I was heart broken completely. After two hours I was called downstairs and to my surprise I saw Rio gave birth to another puppy and this time it was alive. She gave birth to another live puppy after another 2 hours interval. And thats it, I took Rio to the vet the next day and immediately asked the surgeon to start her operation and cut off the tumor. The surgeon discussed all the pros and cons to me and asked me to come on a scheduled time a week or two later. I took Rio home and almost cried seeing her suffer. How could this little being handle a 1kg tumor ? The puppies added twice to her burden. Then came the day of the operation. After 8 hours of experimental operation the PhD certified doctor and a bunch of 16 medical students successfully completed the operation and released my sweet baby from her immense pain. And I heartily thank the doctor who helped me to choose the right path for Rio.... Everyone please do keep Rio and her puppies in your prayers, thanks.
