Here, take my hand, shouted the wife of my boss at me. The mirror - TopicsExpress

Here, take my hand, shouted the wife of my boss at me. The mirror on the wall reflected my wrinkled face. The wrinkles were just a sign of surprise. The shout was followed by unleashing slap on my forehead then she pulled be by my ear. She repeated the same words and I do exactly what she instructed me to do. When I touched her right hand, I felt a firm grip on my left hand and she hauled me swiftly from the sitting room to her bed room. She quickly shut the door and instructed me to sit on her bed. I whispered, No She again pulled me by my ears as she called me names. They were many names but i can only recall just a quater of the total; tailless dog, mongrel, demonish creature,charcoal...I kept quiet following my daddys doctrine - do not argue with your boss. She then pushed me with all her might to her bed. But I could not make a move though I felt weak as a result of eating the leftovers I collected from their table after they had eaten. If you sit on the bed, you will have enough to eat, she said softly. I pushed her and she fell on the bed. I tried to open the door but I had no key.She guffawed at me and removed all her clothes.Indeed she was naked. She was just beautiful like the one you think the chief would marry. Her heaps made me turned my face backward to defeat the temptation of admiration. Did God use a pencil and a rubber to draw the picture of this woman before creation? I asked myself. The struggle was now between ID and super ego. I nodded my head in dismay. I recalled what brought me there it was just none house boy work; nothing else. I stood there pleading to get out, but my repeated pleas were just futile. She smiled at me but i turned my face away from hers. She removed from her pouch, Ksh 1,000 which was my five month salary. She said that I should either take the money and make her happy or let her called the guards to arrest me for raping her. I recalled the status of my parents and how they struggle to bring up my twelve brothers and how they appreciated the Ksh 50 i gave them monthly and compared to how they would feel when i would be arrested. I was stranded. She took a phone but i shouted, No wait. She stood up for my hands but i hid them behind me. Dear, I will make u happy just open the door, I said as I sat on her bed. She partially obeyed my plea and opened the padlock and left the door closed. She touched my chest and removed my shirt. I felt I could not endure the outcomes that at all. I would rather be jailed than suffering the consequences of sleeping with a chiefs wife. Moreover, Juelinto who was caught red handed with the woman was gunned down by guards under influence of King Kabaka.I ran to the door and pulled it quickly.Successfully, i ran to sitting room, then outside the house.Guards came to arrest me. However, Guard Nuwagaba whom the same had happened to but found not guilty and promoted as a solidier told other guards to stop. They questioned me and i explained to them everything. They arrested me under pressure and remmanded me for two weeks. There was no food nor water;no lying nor sleep because the room was 1m by1m and i could only stand. It was smelling;untidy due to the stools of the remmanded people. To be set free the chief wanted ksh 1,000000 if not i would be sentensed to death. The court rulling was to sentense me to death. Mommy yielled, begged and shrilled but all were in vain. Jail was even better than the chiefs palace because i could get something to eat, go to school and have where to sleep. My shelter in the palaced was a grass thatched restaurant while the jail building was blocky and i could not feel any chil. Ten years later when I was through with both primary and secondary education, I saw Nuwagaba peeping from a room then I called out, Osiepa he came and said hello to me and promised me that I would be out from there very soon. I wouldnt believe it until after one week. Everybody in the jail was ordered to move out of the jail. People sorrounded the jail compound demonstrating against chief. I realized the chief had killed my father for attempting to set me free, disallowed the election bill proposed in the parliament, the bill demanded free and independent eletion of leaders to promote democracy,he also singned for the budjet that benefited the rich and promoted inflation in the chiefdom, also made sure that the goverment posts were served by people his friends and people from his clan. He never considered anyones level of education to find any job but only if he knew you or you bribed him. People were tired of the tyrrany and needed change. I led the multitude of people to the palace and told the chief to crawl on her belly, a sign of surrender. NUWAGABA took the sword and celebration began. The security council of the chiefdom protected me and Nuwagaba. No More Oppressions was our song.
