Here we have yet another index of positive national performance which is absolutely dominated by small European countries like ourselves. This one concerns an area within our devolved remit in which Scotland is number 1. All we need to do now is to encourage the graduates from university that their future lies here and they stay and contribute to the economy and vibrancy of the country. Where Scotland has the power we do things better than Westminster we do exactly that. Devolution gives us very limited powers, independence is about having all of the powers, within the constraints of a global economy. The Scottish Government has made a political decision of principle that we would protect free university education. St Andrews, founded in 1413, is Scotlands oldest and the third oldest in the English-speaking world. We have a strong tradition of education accessible to all with ability, irrespective of social class. However, that tradition is under threat because Westminster holds the purse strings. The consensus of commitment in Westminster is that we are only 25% of the way into the cuts and austerity. To make the most of our resources and to see the benefits from them we need independence and we need your Yes vote, so do you.
