Heres a Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday. This was a Rock Against Racism show I went to in Central Park in 1988. I think it was the first time I saw Nausea. Im sharing it for a couple of reasons. First, as is obvious from recent events, America still has a huge problem with racism and far too many people want to stick their heads in the sand and pretend it doesnt exist. Second, Nausea reminds me of Thanksgiving. No, seriously. Neil, the singer for Nausea in this era, used to host a vegetarian punk rock Thanksgiving at his place in Brooklyn in the early 90s. All the misfits and orphans would gather there for punk rock community and camaraderie. It was a fun time and I have fond memories of those days. Now as Nausea would say, Smash racism now!
