Heres a big part of my John Wayne movie collection. As a collector of John Wayne movies I found collecting some of the box sets would be more effective in the long haul if your a completist like me. If youve looked at John Wayne box sets then youll realize that there are hundreds of them. But after all of my research Ive come to the conclusions that these are the best of them all. The Screen Legend Collection ($14 on amazon) and The American Icon Collection ($10 on amazon) feature 5 movies apiece. They feature his more uncommon movies from the 1940s and 1950s. The John Wayne film collection (like $20 at Walmart) has 10 movies on it. Featuring some westerns and war movies plus a few slight rare movies like the big trail, The Barbarian and the Geisha and this rarity that Ive only found on this box set Legend of the Lost. John Wayne: the ultimate collection ($5 almost anywhere) has 20 westerns from his B-movie western days, all 3 serials he did and a slightly uncommon romantic comedy he did in the 1930s called His Private Secretary. The only problem I have with this box set is 2 of the serials were reduced down to 80 minutes instead of the complete 12 chapters. You can find another box set similar to this one that has the complete serials but its missing His Private Secretary. I personally own both box sets but I like this one more. Last but not least John Wayne: The epic collection (I found for $99 at Best Buy) features 40 of his greatest movies known. All the ones that come to mind first are in this box set. John Wayne did approximately 168 movies total. If you bought these specific sets youd have 85 of them without repeating yourself for approximately $150 give or take for taxes. If your collecting them all like I am then thats a big chunk. I hope this helps!!
