Heres a bit of irony for you. Concerned citizens can invest days, weeks and years fighting inappropriate mining: coal, CSG, gold, uranium etc. Yet they keep giving their money to companies that invest in this mining, while the most effective thing they can do (which would mostly only take a few hours or so depending on your situation), is to stop giving their money to these companies and encourage others to do the same. Join The Day of Divestment on May 3rd and stop supporting these companies who are destroying our planet. The mining companies are mainly owned by banks: so switch your bank accounts and mortgages to credit unions or buildings societies. Then switch your superannuation to an ecofund (mine made a 20% return last year!) and switch your electricity supply to Momentum (Red Energy are owned by the Commonwealth/NSW/Vic Governments who support CSG mining) and you may think of other ways to help, so please share if you do.
