Heres a great 1965 view of downtown along Spring and Forsyth Streets. To the right you can see the old Richs store and its circular garage ramp. On the left over all the train tracks is Union Station, one of our old passenger rail terminals. The First National Bank is under construction and sits where the old Peachtree Arcade once was. In 1964-65 many SJHS students delivered telegrams all around from the Western Union Office which is just to the left of Union Station on Marietta Street. Can you find some old landmarks and places you visited back then? (Picture from the AJC Spring Street post this morning.)
