Heres a great example of greenwashing. The Audubon mentioned here - TopicsExpress

Heres a great example of greenwashing. The Audubon mentioned here has nothing to do with the Nation Audubon Society. Its a ruse. When Orchid Island was closed and under receivership with a skeleton crew, I was responsible to keep 30 acres of plants in good shape. Somehow I had the time to chain saw dozens of large Brazilian Peppers to allow native plants to thrive and the results are visible today. On the east side of A1A is a wide variety of slow growing natives that I had worked on. On the west side is a chronically overgrown mess of invasive pest plants that Orchid Island doesnt know how to tame. There is so much chemical spraying and so many exotic plants that it is a virtual dead zone with almost no pollinator activity in this so called environmentally aware community. I remember when a log lodged itself in the pond near hole #7 tee. Every day coming out after lunch I would see turtle and birds resting on it. But some people thought it was too messy and felt the need to take it out. Its a big fat lie and I have a story for another day about how management went into an uproar when I did a direct action and was able to make my point about birds and their needs for nesting cover and food.
