Heres a photo diary showing the process of making the Brown Sugar Hand & Body Scrub for those interested. 1. Gather all ingredients needed. Sometimes this can include olive or grape seed oil , since I was out of those I used avocado oil -which is wonderful for our skin. Other ingredients include: *Brown sugar- exfoliates dead skin cells *Natural or raw Honey- Antioxidant, moisturizer, protects against skin damage *Olive, Grapeseed or Avocado oil- Cleanser, moisturizer, and nourishes skin *Rosehip oil-new addition, benefits of this oil are awesome, great for nails! Rosehip is an excellent oil for face skin care but great for skin in general. *Vitamin E oil-moisturizing and great for skin and also acts as a natural preservative in the mixture. *Scents : Vanilla or Almond extract or essential oil of choice that I have available- Lemon (my favorite for this mixture) Lavender, Peppermint , ylang ylang and clary sage for this round of scrubs. Essential oils from doTERRA. 2. I clean and sanitize all jars , utensils and bowls used and surface area where Im making the products before I begin. I wash hands throughout the process as needed. 3. When jars are clean, open and ready- I pour into the mixing bowl- sugar, avocado oil, honey, vit e oil , rosehip oil and mix together. I constantly add either more oil or more sugar as needed. 4. Last step is mixing in the chosen scent/essential oil. In this batch almost everyone wanted lavender so that made it super easy :) 5. Scoop into jars once the mixtures are just right (some have more oil and some less in this batch). 6. Once complete, apply labels and send off to their new owners! Pretty simple really- and lots of fun!
