Heres a piece that a lot of people miss about King. He wasnt assassinated until he graduated from the struggle for equal treatment in the segregated South on buses, schools, etc. to advocating for the poor and requesting resources and economic development. The missing piece, the great unaddressed wrong in our nation, at least in part, has to do with its failure to support and develop its greatest resource- ALL its people! This is best accomplished without racial prejudice, class wars, and demonizing the poor. In fact, any literate person can find this same truth in the PREAMBLE to our Constitution. Read it lately? Here ya go: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
