Heres a poem I wrote for My sister Lisa Kraushar I want her to know I never forgot! It seemed like only yesterday, you held my hand so tight. A little girl looking up to me made my world feel so right. Sparkling hazel eyes, and a smile from ear to ear. She was my baby sister, and my world was perfect here. Barbie dolls, and makeup, dressing up to play. Little games that she made up, the rules changing everyday. Little feet running to the door to greet me, bright smile on her face. She sure knew how to warm my heart with her little embrace. She was my little sister, between us10 years apart, But that never really mattered, she stole my heart. Playing at the park, hand in hand singing as we walk. Her little girl voice beside me, how she loved to talk. Years go by, we’re older now, summers at the lake. Playing at the beach, the sand castles we would make. The age gap seemed to shorten, as the years just melted by, You don’t realize in the moment how much time seems to fly. More years past, we both age more, did we drift apart? Doesn’t seem possible, with all the love for you in my heart. I married, you lived at home. I was a military wife. You wanted to be a Doctor, that was your goal in life. Sleepovers at my house, scary movies and junk food galore, Our pig out fests were great, left us wanting more. Dancing to the music, you my sister singing right along. Have I ever told you these memories keep me going on? More years go by, marriage and babies, and life gets in the way. Before we know it time has passed, and I don’t see you every day. 11 years fly by, and maybe I become a passing name. Both our lives change, because nothing stays the same. A face on the internet of my sister I once knew, call it fate! How could I ever have left, is coming back too late? Beautiful girl that you are now, welcomed me with an open heart. Feeling so close to you once again, like we’ve never been apart. I Love you my beautiful sister, Lisa Love Terry
