Heres a quick but very effective training tip for squats...do your squats right AFTER you do your calf training. The reason isnt to pre-exhaust the calves...its to pre-stretch the calves. When you train calves, you SHOULD be focusing on the stretch at the bottom of every rep. So hitting calves right before squats will dramatically increase the mobility of your ankles when you go to squats. And one of the biggest issues people have with squats is tight calves that force them to pitch their torso forward as they come down. If you have that issue with squats (or even if you dont), its worth trying. Ive found it to be VERY effective. Plus, it helps your calves to work them when you have more energy, before you demolish your nervous system with squats.
