Heres additional proof of just how disconnected todays elected Democrats are from the Democratic Party of JFK. While I applaud my opponents massive personal fortune (estimated to be between $50,000,000 to $250,000,000), I find it a bit odd that he is lecturing us on taxes which his wealth immunizes him from. Heres his response, from an interview he gave yesterday, when asked about the incredibly high tax-burden placed on the citizens of Maryland, and the businesses leaving the state because of those taxes: My opponent said Maryland cant try to beat other states on taxes stating, We would lose. The businesses that only want to talk about taxes will move out anyhow. There you go folks. A multi-millionaire many times over, at a small-business function, allegedly representing their interests at the federal level, telling small-businesses to go pound sand. Sadly, this is not a joke, but it is the reason we are converting Maryland Democrats in droves. When you are elected to represent peoples interests and they are struggling to keep their businesses open, food on their tables, gas in their tanks, the red ink out of their checkbooks, and their healthcare plan from being ripped from their hands, you cannot laugh in their faces as they are looking for help. Unlike my opponent, I understand that you did build that, and that taxes matter. When taxes go up, your costs go up and, in an era of shrinking take-home-pay, that means sacrifices have to be made by your family while DC-insiders continue to live high on the hog.
