Heres an easy way for you to find out how free your movement is and how to improve it. It will take just a few minutes of your time. 1) Stand with your arms hanging at your sides. 2) Keeping your feet where they are, look to your left 90 degrees and then look to your right 90 degrees. 3) When you looked left and right, did your chest stay facing forward or did it turn left and right? If it turned, how far did it turn? 4) When you looked left and right, did your pelvis stay facing forward or did it turn left and right? If it turned, how far did it turn? 5) Look to the front and cross your arms over your chest, with each hand resting on the opposite shoulder. 6) Keeping your hands resting on your shoulders and keeping your feet where they are, slowly point your elbows to the left and to the right several times. 7) Repeats steps 1 through 4. Do your chest and pelvis now turn further? The most efficient way to look left and right is to allow the entire body to participate by twisting between the head and the feet, rather than by just turning your eyes in their sockets or turning your head by twisting your neck while leaving the rest of you fixed.
