Heres an excerpt from the new book Cycle of Lies, and its about...guess who...right, Lance Armstrong. But this author had access to a number of previously hidden sources. The main takeaway is how prevalent, how dangerous and how early in their careers that Armstrong, and the cyclists that formed his best teams, began their extreme doping. Interesting to note how easy it was for the doping gurus to obtain the ingredients for the noxious drug cocktails in Europe. The article reveals a pharmacist in Belgium, who was easily bribed with signed jerseys and tickets to watch the peloton. I wonder if American pharmacists would be this pliable and amenable to supplying the toxic brew. Is it a cultural thing?
