Heres an interesting idea. The author proposes allowing low-level, nonviolent prisoners to earn good time credit by working on public works projects: bridges, highways, transportation. Its a Win, Win, right? Prisons stop being warehouses and offenders have the opportunity to engage in meaningful, vocational work that serves the Common Good. We can improve our infrastructure in a less expensive way too. What do you think?
