Heres another thing that I worked on earlier this year. Its a short film that a group of us made as an entry in Down to the Wire, The Tallgrass Film Festivals 24 hour film race. The submitted version was five minutes long (the maximum allowed length) but the edit was refined the following week, making the final cut 11 minutes in length. We were given these required elements: 1. The genre had to be Film Noir. 2. A short-haired cat rancher had to be a top five character. 3. We had to shoot at a downtown bridge. 4. The dance Walk Like an Egyption had to be performed. 5. A 1955 Chevy Bel-Air was provided for a couple of hours in the late morning and we had to include it in the story. We were given these prompts at 7 AM on a Saturday and we had to turn in the finished film by 7 AM the following day. An insane amount of work and focus went into making this by the team, and I cant take very much credit. I have to mention that Andrew Bales spent 20+ hours in sound design, on top of writing, directing and editing. Watch the credits following the film to see who else was involved and how.
