Heres irony: Saturday, I was seated in the Longacre Theater in NYC with Janet, waiting for the curtain to rise on Steinbecks Of Mice and Men, when comedy star Seth Rogan and movie heartthrob Zac Efron sat down a few seats away, causing a disruption among the teen-to -30-somethings who callously descended like locusts on the entertainers with iPhones flashing - the essence of FALSE human connectedness. Then the lights go down and the curtain goes up on Steinbecks play - a gritty but poignant story about the need for TRUE human connectedness in a callous world. [FYI - Oscar winner James Franco played George, the more subtle (and I think, demanding) role in a sturdy but unremarkable performance. Chris ODowd, on the other hand, as Lenny, was superb].
