Heres my New Years gift to all of you who are fans of the 1939/40 and 1964/65 New York Worlds Fairs: The 3-part video I created as the pilot for my proposed PBS documentary: Remembering Tomorrow. Unfortunately, after telling me they wanted the project and would get funding if I spent the money to make the pilot, WNET/PBS in New York decided that a documentary celebrating the legacy of the two NY Fairs was not worthy of financial support (even though they loved my pilot). So the project is now dead. But this 13 minute video of mine remains. Part 1 is the history of both fairs ... part 2 is devoted to collectors of Fair memorabilia ... and part 3 is a tribute to how General Motors tried to predict the future via their Futurama rides in 1939 and 1964.
