It looks like the best timing for any frozen precip will be generally from midnight to 900am. I really dont think we are going to see major accumulations that could make for hazardous travel, but I do believe well get to see something fun falling from the skies! But as I have said, around here winter weather events are like a box of chocolates...We might have patchy rain prior to midnight but well be well above freezing...the precip should switch over to a light sleet/snow showers after midnight...best time looks to be from 2-7am...then maybe some patchy light sleet or freezing rain/drizzle after daybreak but ending by mid-morning...The National Weather Service is posting the Winter Advisory for our area erring on the side of caution which is a smart play, in case moisture fields are more robust...typically they are not when the flow aloft is out of the northwest moving to the southeast...with that in mind, the risk of more hazardous travel will be back to our west into Texas and especially toward the Hill Country. Will have an update later today and apologies in advance as I cannot answer directly every question of about my town or my trip in a timely manner...but I do read the messages and will get to as many as I can on air or when possible. katc/pages/computer-forecast-maps/
