Heres my recommendation for a film to watch either downloaded or on rental.... ....THE WORLDS END..... Normally id be happy to give a summery of the plot for a movie recommendation, but this time no.... What ill say is this was the most amusing, suprising and downright entertaining film ive seen this year, made all the more so by knowing absolutely nothing about it.... Its way to easy to give away spoilers in a film reaview and say at the beginning, dont read if you dont want to know the crucial plot devices, so im simply not saying anything about the plot, and I urge you NOT to google or IMDB the film plot or synopsis.... The cast and crew (simon pegg / nick frost / edgar wright-dir / paddy considine / eddie marsen / martin freeman / bill nighy) and a plot that is a joy for everyone, regardless of your preferred genre makes this the film recommendation of the year so far.... Its fair to say once you have seen it, thats yer lot, a bit like the crying game, this film ticks along and then WTF.... If your of a certain age this is going to delight, as you confidently reel off the influences and cinimatic touch-stones, along with the cultural nods to the 90s... the music is a perfect match to the film, and in a perfect world all films would deliver the pleasure quota that TWE offers.... Do yourself a favour, check this out, do not accept any distractions over the 1 hour 49 minute run time, have a beer, bash away at the popcorn and just thank god that films like this are around to balance out for the dross that so often passes for entertainment... Ok petals, my work here is done....now go and enjoy.... :-)....
