Heres my share on my own goal setting.... My helpful tip- get clear and detailed on why you set your goals in order to achieve them. For a LONG time Ive been inflexible. Its held me back from trying new sports and kept me from being motivated in the form of getting up in the morning easily to cleaning the house. At least once a day I could say this has held me back. Its also a good reason for procrastination. When I dont use my body correctly it ends up injured, stiff and Im unhappy:( I asked myself how old will I be in 10 yrs? Answer is 39. Now when I see my life in the way I want it in 10 years it involves being able to use my body freely and easily. It includes not having to spend money on therapies I could avoid. I wake up with ease and because of this I can go off and enjoy a run, walk, swim...anything I find enjoyable and fun. I also see a balance of work rest and play to live a more sustainable life. Yoga has helped me turn down my need to rush and develop more flexibility. Its also fun getting into your body and seeing what your capable of. Enough detail??:) A couple of weeks ago I was ecstatic about the fact I could touch the ground with legs straight. Two weeks later I can nearly touch the ground in downward dog, next I want to get those legs on the ground with a nice straight back in staff pose. These all may seem like really small goals for some but massive milestone for me! At least 10 minutes a day to 1/2 an hour is what it took and loving it. I would love to hear about your goals and the details on what will move you to accomplish and stick to them! Please share!
