Heres my story for the week. Glove gift Kevin, what in the world are all these! Is this a whole stack of new gardening gloves? Oh, just look at them. How pretty! My sisters Lou and Katherine and I dropped by Katherine’s son Kevin’s house for a few minutes and while we were talking my eye immediately went to that stack of gloves on his kitchen counter. And you can bet I quickly forget the conversation with that treasure lying over there on the counter. My attention was completely focused on it. Now don’t get me wrong. When I was oohing and aahing over the gloves, I really wasn’t hinting that he give us each a pair. But do you know what. That is exactly what my nephew Kevin did. He said, “Well, would you like a pair of these? I get several at a time all in one package. One size fits all. Here each of you take a pair.” Well, I’m not one to “look a gift horse in the mouth” so I immediately reached forth and took this new pair of gardening gloves. And, of course, my sisters followed suit and each received their pair too. After all, who can resist an extra pair of gardening gloves! For years I didn’t wear gloves when I worked outside gardening and playing in the dirt. But over time, I guess I got wiser and now I don’t step foot outside until I put my garden gloves on. First things first. But after awhile, this day-after-day wearing of gloves eventually wears through usually first at the finger tips and then other places so a new pair of gloves is always welcomed—and especially when I’m not expecting it. I love “new glove surprises.” So, Kevin, thank you from the bottom of my heart. As I wear my new gloves, this will be a little automatic prayer of blessing for you.
