Heres one for you all (very long story cut short)....In May 2014 i bought a 17hh 7yr old ISH. She was 5 staged vetted and passed with flying colours. She was a little underweight and didnt have much topline/muscle so spent couple weeks on the pessoa to build some muscle then did some hill work with her. First few months went fine, she put weight on, gained muscle went out competing no problems. In September she became very nappy, kept rearing when as to go forward and went lame vet came out X-rayed and looked like KS. She went up to the Equine Hospital the vet watched her lunge on the soft/hard and me ride her where she would constantly buck on the right rein in trot and canter on buck in canter on the left rein. The X-Ray came up clear so they proceeded to do a Bone Scan which showed pulled ligaments in the back and weakened back muscles. She had the back injected and went onto a 8 week Rehab programme of pessoa/lunging and long reining. After the 8 weeks i was allowed to start hacking her out twice a week in walk for half an hour i did this for a month and then introduced trot work, she would buck and bronk and first but soon settled down and was happy to go forward. I had a Physiotherapist out yesterday and unfortunately didnt get the news i wanted to hear. It looks like she was hammered as a youngster and has muscle damage in her hind end and looks like she might has fussed hocks which is affecting the way she is moving/working so she isnt tracking up and causing the back to become very weak and sore and isnt strengthening at all. I have got to try some exercises with her on the lunge and on the floor and the Physio is back out in 2 weeks to reacess if no improvements back to vets....What do people think???
