Heres one of 3 Blue Caps when they played with the Circle E Ranch Boys in Greenville, SC about 1957. Clifton (my dad) is on the far left, with his buddy Johnny Meeks next to him, with only a one neck Fender this time!, and Bobby Jones fourth from left. This is right before Clifton joined Gene. Knowing Johnny Meeks is how Clifton got into the Blue Caps. Its who you know, I guess. The hand writing is from my Grandmother who would tell me stories of having Gene and the band over for dinner.
