Heres some information on Antaractica Antarctica was born on a below zero day, January 1, 1970 in the Windsor Town Hall, as a result of the dissolution of two prior groups. One was ‘Zeus’ and the other being ‘Soul Situation’ The original Antarctica band members were: Cliff Ducharme: Lead guitar & vocals. Bob Nolli: Rhythm guitar (R.I.P.) Doug Cormier: Drums & vocals Dave Healey: Bass guitar & vocals Irving Thomas: Lead vocals & soup can. We later added Jeff Horn as third guitar. Our song stylings were in the vein of JAMES GANG, CHICAGO, ALLMAN BROS. BEATLES, ROLLING STONES, STEPPENWOLF, GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS, CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG AND TEN YEARS AFTER. The group played the Boy’s Club Lighthouse in 1970 and various other venues in the tri-state region. The group reformed to a certain degree, upon news of the first Lighthouse reunion, held September 9, 2012, and the members at that time were: Cliff Ducharme, Dave Healey, Jay Fruet & Jerry Giguere This October, 2014, the group’s appearance will be the last performance under the ANTARCTICA moniker. As of October 13, 2014, the group will then be officially known as GYPSY MOON.
