Heres something Ive wanted to see done, the movie Gettysburg riffed in Mystery Science Theater 3000. ib.huluim/show_art/3527?size=900x350®ion=US But what would be the jokes? Here are a couple I thought up: --------------- [Movie] Buster Kilrain: Any man that judges by the group is a pea-whit. [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Crow: What is a pea-whit. Tom Servo: I think its a competitor brand to goobers for chocolate covered peanuts. ----- [Movie] Joshua Chamberlain: Dont call me Lawrence. [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Tom Servo: And dont call me Shirley. ----- [Movie] Lee: Its a good time of the day, I always do enjoy this time, just before the dawn. [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Joel: [Doing best southern Martin Sheen impression] I enjoy with a fresh cup of Folgers coffee, because theres nothing like waking up to Folgers in my cup. Crow: Did they even have Folgers back in the 1860s Tom Servo: I dont know, but they definitely had product placement in the 1860s. ----- [Movie] Lee: I have told you there is no time for that! There is no time! [J.E.B. Stuart looks shocked] [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Crow: I didnt think it was possible, but Stuarts beard just...intensified. Tom Servo: Can it do that? Joel: How could it not? Martin Sheen has that effect on things. ----- [Movie] Pickett: I challenge the man to step forward...who believes that General Lee is descended from an ape. [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Tom Servo: I think Dr. Zaius over there might have something to say about that. Joel: Thats Tom Berenger youre pointing to. ----- [Movie] Buford: Devin, Ive led a soldiers life...and Ive never seen anything as brutally clear as this. [Riffing at Bottom of Screen] Tom Servo: [Doing gruff voice to sound something like Sam Elliot] And right now, the only thing that I can take comfort in is that The Dude abides. ---------------------- Thats all I could think of for now. Can any of you think of good parts of the film that could be riffed like this? Is any of the above funny?
