Heres something to think about, for those of you who get very lean at certain points in the year. I always keep on top of my flexibility, mobility, and regularly visit my chiro and physio. Feeling slightly out of balance, I booked into see my Chiro today. In his words Ive never seen you this beat up. Bearing in mind I see him almost every 3-4 weeks, these were pretty strong words. SI joint out, pelvis twisted and a locked up thoracic. Since the end of my prep, Ive been slowly brining calories back in, nursing my adrenal health and increasing rest and recovery strategies. Weight has slowly been climbing, and as expected Ive been filling back out and muscles are a lot fuller. An interesting observation I made when speaking to my chiro, was the bio mechanical structural trauma that losing large amounts of body fat could possibly cause. Ligaments loosen, and muscles will be considerably weaker than when youre heavier. I can only think that my joints and connective tissue have been that unstable over the last few weeks, theyve almost re set out of balance. This is just another observation from my prep, and one which I didnt really think of until today. Makes a lot of sense to me, and another reason to keep on top of my joint and bio mechanical health as regular as I do.
