Heres the feature film. PELICAN is a somewhat experimental design, intended to have the sea kindliness at speed of a deep vee, but without the deep vee. The point is better speed with improved (less) fuel consumption. Shes 34, displacing 9500 lbs with 600 HP on the transom. She topped out at 52mph, turned well at speed, and handled the light chop on Eggemoggin reach without hesitation. Her intended use is as a commuter between her home port of Stuart Florida and the Bahamas. But with her enclosed center console and cabin heater she could be right at home commuting across Penobscot Bay... Even in January!
