(the bits that effect the deep south) Issued: 2:34pm Sunday 10 Aug 2014, Valid from Tuesday 12 August 2014 to Friday 15 August 2014 A cold south to southwest airstream is expected to spread over the country and persist through Friday. Snow showers are likely to low levels over southern New Zealand at times on Thursday and Friday. There is a low probability of warning amounts of heavy snow for Southland,Fiordland and southern Otago on Thursday and Friday. On Friday, there is also a low risk of severe gales over exposed parts of Southland and Clutha. *Note: Probabilities only relate to the risk of Warning criteria being meet/exceeded.
