Heres the latest update everyone. Im still feeling decent since chemo earlier in September, my counts have dropped a little bit but not as bad yet like the speed of dropping low after methotrexate and vinblastine in 2012 and the beginning of 2013. Im going in to the clinic on Tuesday for chemo #2. Ive got a feeling that my counts will probably drop lower than what they are now. My ANC is currently 2.2 and is the lowest its been since chemo on September 7th or so. Ive got a feeling that chemo #2 will probably have more effects on my counts than the first. For those of you wondering what the ANC is, its how well the immune system is working. The lower the number the more youre at risk for infection. If it drops below 1.0 its abnormal and low. If it drops and you start running a fever its considered a neutropenic fever and it causes you to more than likely be put in the hospital and on isolation/contact precautions as well as IV antibiotics. If you are able to manage things at home then you have to wear a mask 24/7. As always, thank you for your prayers and support.
