Heres the publics first glimpse at the official document... Special Doc: STAR WARS: HISTORY OF THE OLD REPUBLIC / JAN 2015/ For Public Release / Pre-Graphics Slate. The Constitution of the Galactic Republic ~ The Preamble ~ We the free people of the united Core worlds sectors, do hereby establish and ordain a new government for all peoples, a Galactic Republic, as a source of hope and unity from the heart of the galaxy to extend to all worlds far and wide, in times of darkness and blight, to project a light of hope among the stars, and to be a beacon of freedom for future prosperity. In order to protect the rights of all beings, regardless of species, race, gender, creed, religion, planetary origin or cultural background, from the forces of evil, tyranny, slavery, and unjust rule. This will be a government of regulated and drafted law, elected by the due process of democracy for all citizens. This new government will never discriminate nor refute entry of qualified worlds into this great Republic, and shall be the highest level of government of the worlds which behold it, and provide a safe haven to those in need. This Republic shall be governed by a senate of elected officials from each inhabited world, and only this free senate shall pass laws of the Republic. The rule of the Republic will be governed by this document, its clauses, and the ability of the senate to add clauses with due legal process of democracy. This document provides a constitution, to which the first act of this new senate will be to ratify and uphold, long live the Republic.
