Heres the short story about the most important thing in my life, next to my beautiful bride to be of course! I hope this inspires you to help us out and to do something incredible with your life. indiegogo/projects/five-a-m-recording-project Ill start with a link to my bands campaign, listed above, as were trying to raise over $10k to record a new album of 5 songs, the best 5 songs weve curated over the last few years, with a well-respected producer in LA. Lets just say hes worked with some of the biggest names in the industry: Pink, Backstreet Boys, Jonas Bros., Miley and countless others. And he recorded one of my favorite albums, Switchfoots The Beautiful Letdown. This link includes a funny, yet honest video, recounting things weve been through in our career, and what we intend to do with the funds once raised. Now, onto my story: Ive been a musician for as long I can remember, since birth it seems, Ive been banging on drums and playing musical instruments, dancing to any rhythm I hear or create. Boy, did I drive my mom and sister crazy in high school, kicking beats on the table when I was supposed to be doing homework! Ive spent my entire life learning how to be a great musician, writing, recording and playing with many bands over the years. Some were ok, some were excellent, some were just a one-time jam session. I have played in a symphony at Carnegie Hall, and I have played most major venues with killer bands in San Francisco, but for some reason I never felt complete. Enter Five a.m., the band of brothers Ive chosen to spend a large part of my life with. 5 guys that do amazing things with music and life in general. We are now at a place where we have been a band for about 14 years, last I checked, and have a chemistry that just cant be matched between a group of guys. We are family, and are able to make music as such. No creative limits, songs are birthed in many ways. We work as a band, no filters, no anger, no judgement or fearing that someone might quit (of course weve all had our days!). We are cohesive and unified, down to the last drop of energy we pour into each note during our weekly rehearsal. They will all be in my wedding this February. My best men. For life. One of my big dreams as a kid thats never left me was to work with a legendary producer and record an album that would be played on every radio station in the country, if not the world. This is our big shot, to knock it out of the park, and to make my dream a reality. If you can help, invest or tell a friend, I applaud you. As you know, most people expect incredible music, in any form, for free these days. Im here to tell you that it just isnt possible to make any dream happen without a community rising up to help out. As you can probably tell, this dream is a big one and Im pretty excited about it. I hope you will be too and I also hope you will contribute to our cause. Follow the link to add funding to our campaign in any way possible. You can see that we are already well on our way, after just a few short weeks. Go out there and achieve your dreams. Nothings stopping you. Dream a big dream. And then dont stop until you make it. I (we) havent stopped and are making the best music of our lives. Its incredible really, that were still doing this successfully. My good friend Zach, our lead guitarist, has been my friend since college days at UOP - 1989!!! 24 years of inspiring each other to craft excellent music. Onwards and Upwards. Lets do this. Thanks for reading. Enjoy every moment. - Jed Friesen
