Heres the skinny on our new baby: Stella Jean Straub de Jesus born March 8, 2014. She is 7 lbs and 21 inches long. Our super-lucky little girl was born in a completely intact amniotic sac (like, inside a clear water balloon!). A rare 1:80,000 birth condition regarded in history as a supernatural occurrence. I dreamed many times of her being born this way, so its pretty incredible to me that it actually happened! We had such a long, dramatic and scary last trimester (I had a bad fall, then pre-term labor, then weeks of non-progressive labor, a cyst, an infection, yikes!) that I was wishing for that extra protection for her and I am thrilled that she got it. The lore surrounding births in the caul is pretty extreme and diverse (is she an angel, a psychic, the future Dalai Lama, or a vampire?) so we will just have to wait and see how she turns out
