Heres the thing. A mayor, duly elected by the voters, has an absolute right to a private life. We dont need to know what goes on inside the bedroom, the bathroom, at the breakfast table. When questionable videos appear perhaps we shake our heads and speculate. Public intoxication aside, ranting, swearing, stumbling, FALLING! The citys CFO, cannot confirm the loud exclamations of a billion dollars saved. Whats really left? Phone calls returned and fridge magnets? We are all accountable to someone. That is how democracy functions. Rob Ford has shown that no matter how atrocious his behavior, a simple apology should suffice. The Toronto media, in my opinion, has been far kinder to this bumbling buffoon than is realistic. What is it about this guy that holds the absolute trust and interest of so many voters? The drama is so intense that #jimmykimmel has actually had him as a guest! What has happened to the dignity and sense of morality of this incredible city? Surely we can elect an individual who will not embarrass us while conducting business at city hall. There is no gravy train. But it sure has become #crazytown. What a shame.
