Heres the thing ......... It almost appears as if for all the fluff and circumstance, the marketing thats shoved in our face daily cant hide the idea we are simply tolerated by management. I wonder, if the FAA ever determined there was no need for flight attendants, if we would continue to be retained - I say no. We serve the public because the FAA says we must be part of the crew. PERIOD We are an expense and a liability and as such management must squeeze any value they can from our workgroup. Its simple business. Going forward, realizing we are simply replaceable part numbers, and a liability which must be managed - certainly one can now see the need for self protection . A contract is the only way we can achieve that level of protection. Any person who possesses critical thinking skills knows this to be true. So many of us act as if they never grasped the concept before of our negative standing. Its sad to me, but exciting at the same time many are seeing the negative change in the holiday incentive program, insurance, and work rules etc. Its very sad to me realizing I have coworkers who are bent on thwarting any effort to improve and or strengthen our position in aviation. Its deeply disappointing I have to read about tattle tales and angry flight attendants who passive aggressively lash out at their own people. Ive had individuals tell me Im a bastard for teasing, taunting and lambasting individuals of NOWAY. Do I take pokes at our detractors - yes I do. Do I hate them because they dont share my or our view point? No. Am I frustrated beyond belief with the thought process? You can rest assured I am indeed. Is it wrong? maybe, but at least Im honest and I dont hide behind a veil of political correctness. Because of that I dont have to hide. Because I dont hide Im able to be honest despite the results. Anyone who knows me personally knows Im honest to a fault, and that I am so passionate about the welfare of my coworkers and our industry and or our profession. Lastly over the year if I have offended anyones dainty sensibilities or if you think I crossed the political correctness line Im sorry for making you cringe. However in the same thought I hope my abrasive writing style helped to cause pause and bring a glimmer of light or an ah ha moment to your life. Ginger, Ashton, Palmer, Nichole, and all the NOWAY gang - Im sorry Im just going to have to be the guy you love to hate. I wish it were different because if you put forth the same effort you do to thwart our workgroups ability to help itself...... Well we could be one strong cohesive team. Just my thoughts - all the best.
