Heres thought BROWNS fans. Lets look at the Browns season thus far in another context. I like NASCAR for this. Metaphorically, lets say that the team is the car, The qb the driver, and the pit crew the coaching staff. In the context of the season, lets say we have a 16 lap race (season). Then the winner(s) are the leaders on the last lap. They go to another race (playoffs) to race for a championship. Alright, now that we have that out of the way we can move on to the meat. Our driver, Hoyer, could probably be equivilant to like a danika patrick. Decent driver, fairly New to driving in NASCAR. Our second driver, johnny football, is fresh off of the dirt track circuit (college football) where he dominated. I think thats fair to say. Now for this season thus far. In the beginning, we were not expected to lead many laps if any at all. Partly due to our danika patrick driver. However, our car ( the rest of the team) has run exceptionally fast and have been in true harmony. beauty, is what some may call it. It has out performed the other cars on the track. We led a good number of laps. Now, our driver and the car are out of sync with 3 laps to go. Reminder, we are still on the lead lap (in playoff contention). What NASCAR team would stop their race to pit, and insert our second driver in with 3 laps to go. WE ARE ON THE LEAD LAP. Even of we know that our second driver Will be the guy next year. We will lose our position on the lead lap (playoff contention). Back to football. Our car is not broken, just out of sync. Inserting a New driver Will not help (they will need to be put into sync with the car we have anyway) We have seen what our car looks like when its in sync (Pittsburg round 2, cincy round 1, 2nd half of titans and Pittsburg round 1). we know what it looks like. My take on the qb situation in Cleveland. As long as we are on the lead lap, why would we give up and change our driver?
