Heres to the PSU vocal minority: Today, the NCAA lifted some of the sanctions by allowing PSU to be bowl eligible immediately and by restoring all scholarships next year. The decision, says the NCAA, is because PSU has shown significant progress toward ensuring its athletics department functions with integrity. Make no mistake. This NCAA decision came because of the past 2 years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance of the PSU Alumni. The truth is that the NCAA, like so many of us have been saying for 2 years, had no jurisdiction to hand down the sanctions. The sanctions were an illegal, knee jerk reaction to the public outcry that was fostered and embraced by our incompetent leadership at PSU. The lessening of the sanctions is not about PSUs athletic integrity, which has been second to none for decades. It is about the NCAA (and most likely in conjunction with PSUs Exec. Board) feeling the pressure of their illegal decision and not wanting the truth to come to light. This is progress but the PSU community will not move on until: - The 11-9-11 trustees resign or are terminated, - The Freeh Report is publicly denounced by PSU, - All of Joe Paternos 409 wins are restored by the NCAA, - The truth about PAs ill-equipped Child Protective Services is acknowledged and rehabilitated and that DPW and CYS are held accountable for failing to identify Sandusky as a child molester in 1998 and earlier while approving him to be a foster and adoptive parent, and - The Second Mile director (mandatory reporter) and leaders are investigated and held accountable for not reporting Sandusky in 2001 when PSU reported Sandusky to them. Amazing what PSU alumni have done. WE ARE.....making an impact!
