Heres where Im at with the new fb messenger app. If anybody bothered to read some of the fine print it states that the reason for tapping into your mic is so that your videos will have sound. The reason for your pictures is so when people are texting back and forth (and some other things) you will be able to have pictures of your friends show up during said textathon. On that, I leave you to concoct your own crazy reasons for this not being true. Also, ever since the very first version of the iphone, and most other smartphones, fb along with a plethora of government entities have had access to your whereabouts through your GPS. This to me is much scarier. But lets not forget about hackers. Some of theses people spend every waking hour hacking into servers with the intent to obtain very private and damaging personal information. These hackers can also hijack webcams almost on command. So as long as we continue to use technology such as iphones and computers everyone is at risk of having their privacy violated in a number of ways. My advice is to be cautious no matter what your preferred means of social media. Oh yeah, I personally dont have a problem with the new app.
