Herman Lewis (Griffin) - after his marriage to Mary Wells ended, he married Marian Jackson, from the Cincinnati group the Charmaines. While in Cincinnati he worked with local producer Gordon Neal on several records, including this beautiful midtempo recording. The Stone Blue label was a partnership between Griffin and Neal. Later this song was issued on Mercury, a very hard record to find these days. When I talked with Gordon Neal several years ago, he introduced himself as Gordon from Stone Blue Music! (this was probably around 1990). Don Litwin, a Cincinnati producer better known for his rock bands (Sacred Mushroom) is credited on this.
