Herman Roberts and I; Mr. Roberts now 92 years young; full of vigor and many conversations, regarding the roberts 300 and 500 room, at Roberts show club that were great facilities, which he employed great stars: Dinah Washington, Count Basie, Arthur Prysock, Sammy Davis Jr., Nat king Cole, Billie Holiday and many, many more. He was the first African American to own Hotel, Motel and Night Club in Chicago, beside being a cab driver and part owner of the Jitney cabs that went up and down southparkway (king dr). Mr. Roberts will be one of the speakers at the August 29, 2014 streetnaming of Dinah Washington at 3800 S. Prairie ave, noon-2;30pm
