Hermie (hopefully everyone knows who he is by now), I am so - TopicsExpress

Hermie (hopefully everyone knows who he is by now), I am so thankful for him, his loyalty and dedication to his flocks that he watches at all hours of the day for us. The first time I caught him in the Polish pen I was very very upset but he didnt hurt anyone and he kept everyone in the run where they belonged. I seen two lil Polish feathers just outside the run so Im guessing he herded whoever got out back in and he stayed there to make sure they stayed where they belonged until I came out. This morning I look back and there he is again in their run, gate open again, he had everyone in the coop keeping them there until he seen me coming, no one harmed. I cant even express how much I appreciate him right now. I believe its me forgetting to lock the gate back after I put everyone in the coop at night. Silly birds, they think they are suppose to roost on their play thing outside. I have to walk in the run, get a bunt and walk back out and around the coop to put them inside the big door So when I get the last one I dont walk back that way again to remind myself to lock the gate. How it latches I cant do it when Im holding a bird, its even tricky sometimes even when you have both hands free. I am going to put a sensor alarm on the darn thing if I have to, or a large neon sign on the coop door so when I shut it I see it without a doubt. Out of all the runs to forget to shut and lock that is not the one to mess around with. Hermie deserves a metal, maybe Ill see if I can get him a superman cape I seen at the place I got the hen aprons. I dunno but he is getting something special.
