Hes a Gentle Giant and his name is Gunner. Gunner is a Cane Corso and is the pride and joy of the Maher family. Pat, Kara, Ryan, Jackson and Wesley have successfully graduated The Puppy Professors Puppy Level 1 obedience program. Pat and Kara are strong, experienced dog owners and leaders which this breed requires, and Kara in particular has caught the Cane Corso bug, and ferociously researches the breeds tendencies through internet articles and communicates and exchanges ideas with Cane Corso chat group members. I suspect that she will soon be an expert on all aspects of the breed; from a trainers perspective it is wonderful to see such a desire and commitment to learning as much about the breed as possible...very inspiring. The Cane Corso originated in Italy and can be traced back to ancient times. Cane Corso is derived from the Italian word for dog, cane, and the Latin term cohors, which means protector or guardian.
