Hey All, Its almost time to head off to Wolkberg Hut on Friday the 4 October - 6 October!!! Please note that the Hut can only hold 25 permits for the Wilderness Area per day. Please confirm your weekend booking for this trip before 29 September at mienaupholstery@gmail! We are a few that will be heading from Polokwane on friday afternoon, We can also meet in Hearnertsburg. I will arrange with the forester in charge to unlock the gate in the valley. All the drivers must please send me their vechile registration number to arrange to go through the gates or show MCSA Membership Card. There was a few request on info for the weekend, Wolkberg is 4x4 country, If there is any one with extra space in a 4x4 vechile please let us know, there is a few of us that needs a lift up. The other option is to park normal cars at the Hearnetsburg Police Station and catch a lift up to the hut or hike up (about 7klm from at the bottom of the valley not from Heanertsburg). We will camp around the hut in waterproof tents (it is not called the wolkberg for nothing and trust me you will maybe get wet if there is clouds:)) The toilet and bathing facilities are a basic long drop and one can go and enjoy a nice fresh rock pool bath in the stream just below the Hut. The Hut has some matresses in the 2 rooms. The kitchen is equiped with gas, kettle, pans and some cutlery. Please bring your own plates and cutlery. The social area in the main room. with a lekker stoep and a beautifull view:) The main activities as hiking, swimming or just relax in the mountains. The costs for the weekend is as follows: MCSA members - R30 per night, NON members - R40 per night, Children is half price. Cars entering is R20, Conservation Entry Fee - R10. Permit - R5 per day. The amount per person wil work out about R135 for the weekend. There is a max of 25 people alowed at the Hut for the weekend. Hope to see you all! Whalles the mouse also share the Hut with us... hee hee There is no fridge, please bring coolers to keep your goodies cold.
