Hey Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham, etc...(Triangle) friends. There used to be a cozy little oasis-like bungalow of warmth and human music tucked away in a Cary strip mall like a warmbuttered honey bun in a basket of stale baguettes. That place was known as The Six String Cafe and a gentleman named David Sardinha was the owner and gentle emperor of that magic realm. It provided, afforded, and encouraged an attitude of deep listening and appreciation of quality songwriting/musicianship like few other venues Ive ever had the privilege to play. Future stars took the stage on a regular basis, creating the experiences theyd doubtless later look back on as some of the most beautiful of their careers before they broke big. Gods swooned with one hand cupped at the ear, planets shifted in their orbits. Cell phones even got turned off. Sadly, venues of that caliber are a challenge to sustain in a world that often seems to thrive on medocrity. What, they wont play Brown Eyed Girl? Lets get out of here! David is a bright star in the world of music promotion who believes in, and excels at, creating intimate musical environments where performer and listener can connect and original music can be savored. Soul food. David, thank the Muse, has returned to the scene with a concert series known as Six String Presents. Do yourself a favor and check out/like his page. David and his projects are an invaluable, deeply worthy, and nutritious cultural resource in your region. My $.02, for whatever thats worth in this economy.
