Hey FB fam. It seems to be #racism Friday. Ive seen several posts this morning on the subject. So lets talk about it. In my opinion racism is a learned behavior. Yes. It starts in the home. Why? In my opinion fear. Not fear of other races, but fear from not understanding other cultures. There are blacks that discriminate against each other for the same reason. Any minority that does not take on the practices of the majority are often shunned. But what price does the minority pay for turning its back on its cultural traditions? We have Asians having surgery to make their eyes more open. We have whites tanning, pumping up lips and butts. We have blacks torturing their hair and adding weave to look more like whites and also having surgery to play down prominent African features. Where does it end? Bo Derek got credit back in the day for cornrow braids. Blacks had been wearing that hair style for years. J Lo and Kim Kardashian get credit for big butts. So were all blacks flat in the butt before? Each race takes what is appealing from other cultures and uses it to make themselves better(?) Lets not even get in to class differences. It seems the more you have the better person you are perceived to be. Lets stop the madness. Accept yourself and others for what they are humans.
